Last weekend (9 - 10 September) the prestigious Langford Court just outside of Bristol transformed into a boutique music festival in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.
For the weekend, Lady Paula Wills bravely opened their private residence, Langford Court to the public to create Langford Live.
The festival took shape in two parts, on Friday 9 September guests attended a black tie Opera evening and on Saturday 10 September a mini rock music festival took place.
Over £70,000 was raised over the weekend from ticket sales, raffles, auctions and donations.
Over 300 guests attended the Night at the Opera event, enjoying a lavish three course meal while being entertained by the London Festival Opera and witnessing an emotional performance by a former teenage cancer patient, Melissa Cavanagh who performed her rendition of ‘On My Own,’ before talking about how Teenage Cancer Trust made her experience with cancer so much more manageable.
Simon Fowler and Steve Cradock from Ocean Colour Scene performed an exclusive acoustic set to headline Saturday’s festival and were supported by other artists including The Union, premier tribute band to The Who, The Whodlums, The Wild Mercury Sound, Mighty Rufus and Dr Jazz.
The Whodlums (The Who Tribute Band) were joined by Steve Cradock of Ocean Colour Scene for a grand finale – which you can see here.
Lady Wills, patron of Teenage Cancer Trust in the South West said:
“We’re absolutely delighted that the event was such a success and raised as much as it did for the Teenage Cancer Trust South West Appeal.
“The support we received from guests and the national and local businesses that helped to make this event happen really was incredible. It couldn’t have happened without them.”
Over 160 young people in the South West are diagnosed with cancer every year. Teenage Cancer Trust aims to provide the best possible care and professional support for young people and their families affected by cancer.
Ontrac were delighted to be involved in such a great event.
